When the hydropower plant at Nämforsen expanded the environmental court mandated a “tourist-release” of the river water between June 15 and August 15 each day between 8.00am and 22.00 pm, and later on Midsummers Eve. The practice keeps the image of the river alive while having no ecological benefits.
